Peter Redfield Becker Jr. Engineering leader. Mentor. Author of Engineering Leadership Bridging the Gap.

Peter Becker

Peter is an engineering leader with more than thirty years in the semiconductor industry. He has held roles across design, development, and operations for process and metrology systems — cost reduction, yield, safety, reliability, and quality — and has led large bases of engineers and project managers.

He takes particular pride in mentorship, career development, and life coaching for engineers, supervisors, and program managers. When he starts mentoring someone, he starts by giving them a leadership book. A mentor once did that for him. That one act set off a chain that has reached engineers across the globe.

He holds an MBA with a specialization in Technology Management and Accounting, a Bachelor’s in Business Management, and an Associate of Applied Science in Electronics. The book is dedicated to Chris Williams — a mentor and friend whose guidance illuminated the path.

His belief is practical: technical excellence is necessary and insufficient. Soft skills can be trained. Organizations that Elevate, Learn, Build, Transform, and Grow their engineers will have the technology leaders of tomorrow. The rest will keep hoping.
